The story of Baileys begins in Dublin in 1974 when David Dand and a team of specialists had the idea of putting together two of the things most loved by the Irish: whisky and milk cream. It was not easy to find a definitive recipe, not least because the cream and whiskey continued to separate in the bottle. After years of trials, inspired by the ice cream production process, Dand and his team finally managed to emulsify the elements well and create one of the world's most beloved liqueurs. Ballantine's Scotch Whisky is produced by the distillery of the same name, founded in 1827 by George Ballantine when he was only 19 years old. The production immediately proved to be of great quality, so much so that in 1895 it deserved the Royal Warrant, the highest recognition, from the then Queen Victoria. The square shape of the bottle was designed during the years of Prohibition, to allow businessmen to hide their whisky more easily inside briefcases. Today the prohibition no longer exists, but the bottle has retained its characteristic and iconic square shape. Today Ballantine's is the Scottish whisky par excellence. The range of products has expanded to include several blends such as this Ballantine's Brasil , characterized by the addition of Brazilian lime peel infusion. Aroma: Notes of caramel, honey, lime, vanilla and cinnamon. Taste: A warm, almost syrupy mouthful, with savoury and sweet flavours of barley, honey, and vanilla balanced by the zip of lime zest and undertones of cinnamon and ginger. COUNTRY: Scotland PRODUCTION DETAILS: It was created by Ballantine's Master Blender Sandy Hyslop to honour the 2014 World Cup and the 2016 Summer Olympics, both hosted by Brazil. It is crafted by immersing dried Brazilian lime peel in muslin bags into second-fill American oak bourbon casks together with a special blend of Ballantine's Scotch whisky. After some time steeping, the lime-inflected whisky is brought together with more of the special blend to reduce and refine the lime portion, before the addition of sugar (just 2%) and vanilla essence. Mix with lemonade on a hot day for a tall and mildly bitter refreshment. Ballantine's Brasil is extremely versatile as an innovative cocktail element: cut some lime garnishes and start experimenting. A blended scotch containing more than 40 single malts and 4 single grain whiskies. Ballantine's Finest is a complex, refined & elegant blended Scotch whisky. It is regarded as the taste to satisfy a modern style. The blend's light gold colour and unmistakable taste come from a complex mix of carefully selected malt and grain whiskies. Taste: well balanced with hints of clove spice and notes of apple and vanilla. Ingredients: aged grain and malt whiskey distillate, prepared water, colourant - sugar colour (E150a).

Chivas Regal 18 Year Old Blended Scotch Whisky (40%, 750ml)   Tasting Note Nose: The nose offers marmalade and malt, a hint of custard, coconut ice and nutmeg. Palate: Winter spices and malt on the palate with barley, Seville orange marmalade and oak. Finish: The finish is spiced and warming with oak and cinnamon.

Chivas Regal 12 Year Old Blended Scotch Whisky (40%, 750ml)   Tasting Note Nose: A creamy, aromatic melange of vanilla custard, hints of aniseed, lemon curd and butter toffee. Wood shavings and dried banana chips develop with just a hint of cassis. Palate: More of those banana chips showing through on the palate, this time there’s a creamy hit of barley malt too, pepped up with a little allspice. Notes of ground walnut and caramel. Finish: Light spice and black pepper on the tail. Lingering notes of cereal sweetness.

Chivas Regal Extra promises an exceptionally rich and generous Scotch whisky experience. The secret to its taste lies in selectively blending whiskies matured in sherry casks. Originally from Spain, these finest Oloroso sherry casks guarantee its prime quality, imparting the whiskies deeper amber colour along with rich, sweet and spicy flavours. The result is an outstanding expression of our master blender's craft. TASTING NOTES Nose fruity sweet with notes of ripe pear and melon, creamy toffee, chocolate, cinnamon and a hint of ginger. TASTING NOTES Nose: melted, balanced. Fruity (pear, apple), citrus (grapefruit). Tobacco, wax. A fine marine touch. Palate: slightly salty, comes back on citrus fruits (lemon). Vegetal (fresh grass) and floral (broom) notes. Overall: long and smooth, on the sweet bitterness of malted barley. Notes of biscuit and sweet almond.
